The release of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is just a few weeks away. However, it appears that Sony will continue a strategy from past games that received significant criticism, as confirmed by the game’s Steam page.

Looking back, the recently released Helldivers 2 was so well-received that it set records in various categories, particularly in sales. Its unique concept successfully attracted players from all around the globe. However, a new decision from Sony turned things around completely.

Sony announced that a PSN account would be mandatory for those wishing to play Helldivers 2 on PC, which sparked considerable criticism worldwide. This requirement meant that players in countries where PlayStation does not officially operate would not have access to the game.

After facing backlash on social media, Sony made an announcement in May, stating that the PSN account requirement for Helldivers 2 had been lifted. Despite this move, the game’s popularity never returned to its previous levels.

A similar situation seems to apply to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, set to launch on October 31. The Steam page indicates that a PSN account will be necessary. Considering past events, this requirement could negatively impact the upcoming title’s fate.
